Shade & Heat Control

Shade Nets

The difference between a terrace you avoid at 3pm and one you can actually sit on — a shade net cuts the heat load without sealing off the air.

What it is

Shade Nets, explained

Shade nets are woven, UV-stabilised fabric panels rigged over terraces, parking bays, courtyards, gardens or car porches to cut direct sun and heat while still allowing air to move through freely. Unlike a solid roof or sheet, the woven structure reduces glare and surface heat significantly without trapping hot air underneath, which is why it's the common choice for spaces people still want to use in daytime — a terrace seating area, a parking bay, or a plant nursery.

Cuts heat and glare

Reduces direct sun exposure on the space below, keeping parked cars and seating areas noticeably cooler.

Keeps airflow moving

The woven structure lets air pass through, unlike a solid sheet roof that traps heat underneath.

UV-stabilised fabric

Built to handle continuous outdoor sun exposure without rapid fading or brittleness.

Sized and pitched to your space

Rigged with the right slope for water run-off, based on your terrace, porch or courtyard layout.

Common questions

Shade Nets FAQ

Will a shade net stop rain as well as sun?
It reduces direct rain impact but isn't a fully waterproof roof — for spaces that need complete rain protection, we'll discuss whether shade netting or a solid cover suits your need better.
What shade percentage should I choose?
It depends on how much light you want to allow through — a parking bay or nursery may need a different density than a terrace seating area. We advise based on the site visit and your intended use.
Does the net fade or weaken with continuous sun exposure?
The UV-stabilised fabric we use is built for continuous outdoor exposure and holds up well over time, though like any outdoor fabric it will show some fading eventually.
