Glass Protection

Glass Safety Nets

Glass railings and skylights look clean until one cracks — this net is the barrier you don't see, until the day glass fails and it's the only thing between a fall and a floor.

What it is

Glass Safety Nets, explained

Glass safety nets add a mesh barrier over or behind glass railings, balustrades, partitions and skylights, so that if the glass ever cracks, shatters or is struck hard, the net stops anything — glass or a person — from going through. It's most often requested for homes and buildings with frameless or toughened-glass balcony railings, glass-floored mezzanines, or overhead skylights where a failure would otherwise have nothing to stop it.

A backup for glass, not a replacement

Sits close to the glass surface so it doesn't change the look, but catches anything if the glass fails.

Suited to railings and skylights alike

The same close-mesh approach works on vertical glass balustrades and overhead glass panels.

Extra protection for children and pets

Reduces the risk from a hard knock or an accidental strike against the glass.

Stays visually unobtrusive

A fine, low-visibility mesh that doesn't compete with the glass railing's clean look.

Common questions

Glass Safety Nets FAQ

Does the net damage or scratch the glass?
No — the net is fixed to the surrounding frame or structure, not stuck onto or drilled into the glass itself.
Is this meant to replace toughened or laminated glass?
No, it's an additional safety layer on top of whatever glass is already installed, for extra protection against breakage rather than a substitute for proper glazing.
Can it be fitted on an overhead skylight, not just a railing?
Yes, with the mesh and fixing approach adjusted for overhead access and the skylight's slope and frame.
